My Cute Baby

This is just a really cute picture of Brooklee that I thought I would post real quick. Julie took this picture when she was here last. Hopefully I will post pictures of Brooklee's first Christmas in the next couple of days!

Brooklee Meets Santa!!!

So here is Booklee's first time to meet Santa! Okay, so maybe she has no idea who is holding her, but at least we have a picture of it! This is just a short little post, but everything is going great! I am taking Brooklee to see my kids at school this week, so hopefully I will have some cute pictures of that! They absolutely cannot wait to see her, so it will be fun!

Getting Ready for Christmas!!!

So we are slowly getting our home ready for the holidays. Sam put our lights up outsid the other night. Here is a picture of what it looks like...

Here is a picture of Brooklee all ready for the light parade in her cute little fleece sweater
Doesn't she just look too dang cute!?

We got her to smile! You can't see it very well, but it's there!

This is just another cute picture of her smiling. She smiles and talks so much! It is fun to talk to her and get her going. Sometimes she will get real excited and giggle! She is way too cute! If her are wondering what the white stuff is on her tongue...so am I!! We thought it was thrush at first, but the doctor said it wasn't thrush, but that it was pretty common for their tongues to turn white. It is just pretty weird lookin!

The first few weeks...

okay, so it has been quite a while, again, since I have updated my blog. We have real problems with our internet. It has been down again for the last few weeks. Anyway, just a little update on what we have been up to. It can all be summed up pretty much in one word ... BROOKLEE. Our lives pretty much revolve around her little schedule. It's nuts!!!! But a whole lot of fun at the same time. She is pretty much the cutest baby on the planet :o) or at least we think so. Here are a few pictures:I just love taking pictures of her sleeping. She always looks so cute!
Here is a picture of Brooklee and Grandpa-Great. He absolutely loves her! He always wants my Grandma to sit with him and talk about the baby!

Here is a picture of "unkie" (my brother Brian - that is just what the kids call him) and Brooklee. I don't think she knows what to think of him...he is a little nutty sometimes! :o)

Here is a picture of Brooklee and I. I think people think I never hold my baby because if other people are around, I don't get to! So here is proof that I do hold my baby!

I love this picture! I made this little shirt for Brooklee on the day of Valley Furniture's big sale. For those of you who don't know, Sam's sister and Brother-in-law own the store and Sam is the manager there. Anyway, she was the little mascot for the day!
Anyway, everything is going really good! She is a good baby (when she's not gassy...she gets that from her daddy :o) we are still getting used to everything revolving around her little biological clock! It really is a lot fun. Well, hopefully my internet will stay running and I will post again soon!

INTRODUCING....

BROOKLEE PAIGE CURTIS!!!
This is her first ride in a car seat on the way home from the hospital. She is pretty much the cutest thing on earth! (I wouldn't be a REAL mom unless I thought so :o)Doesn't she look so peaceful?

Here is the proud daddy holding Brooklee in the hospital the day after she was born

The proud Grandma-Great (that is what all of the great-grandchildren call her)
So it has taken me quite a while to finally post, but what can I say, babies are a heck of a lot of work! Who Knew!!! :o) I definitely wouldn't trade it for anything in the world! It has been crazy getting used to having another little person around. It had been just Sam and I for so long! We are both really loving it. Sam is such a good little daddy. He comes home from work and wants to hold her and change her diapers! (I am wondering how long that one is going to last :o) He is so good with her. It also helps that she is a pretty good little baby. She will actually sleep about 6 hours straight at night! It freaked me out the first couple of nights because I figured she would wake me up to eat or something. But she will wake up, I will feed her and she will go back to sleep for another couple hours until she wants to eat again! I do love it when she is awake and content and just looks around and responds to me. It is the cutest thing ever. It is funny how EVERY little thing they do is soooo cute when they are your own! Anyway, it has been so much fun and I will definitely be posting all of her progress...so keep checking in!

It's Been a While!!!

So I can't believe how long it has been since I last posted! It is all for a really good reason though. We are finally getting the baby room finished, which means we took out what used to be the office. Well, Sam unhooked the computer and it still isn't connected to the internet, so I really haven't blogged at all for the last month! Anyway, we have been super, crazy busy getting everything ready for the baby. I can't believe that I am due next week! These last couple months have really flown by. Mostly because school keeps me so busy and worn out. I can't believe that I ever thought it would be easy to work being 9 months pregnant! I really am crazy! It gets harder by the day, but hopefully not for too much longer. Well, here are some pictures of what we have been up to in the last month!

Here is a "before" picture of the baby room
Here is my mom and Sam painting the baby room
My dad taking a break from painting to play with the fan :o)
The finished product!!! I thought it turned out pretty cute. There are still a few things I want to do, but it is just going to have to wait. We are pretty much burnt out!
Here is Sam taking a break from all the baby room stuff! He has been such a good sport!

This is a bad picture, but probably the last belly picture! (hopefully:o)

Sam is also almost finished with the shop, which is the reason we were finally able to do the babyroom. I don't have any current pictures of the shop at the moment, so I will have to post some pictures of that later. But all he has left to do is the stucco, but we have already put a bunch of stuff in it! Actually, we were putting stuff in it as soon as the doors were on! Anyway, a lot of fun and exciting stuff. Hopefully my next post will be pictures of the baby!

Fun Pictures and Updates!

So this first picture is of my poor little nephew Austin and his broken arm. They were playing on their blow up water slide and he bounced right off the side and landed on this arm. He broke is humorous clear in half and had to have surgery and pins put in. He is doing a lot better now but I felt so bad for him. And then my brother-in-law had to have hernia surgery just a couple days later! And my sister had knee surger just a couple months ago! AND Austin's little sister Hailey has been in and out of hospitals and seeing specialists for her asthma! So their lives are pretty dang hectic right now! Aubrey better watch out, cause how things are going...she's next! Please pray for them! :o)
This is just a goofy picture of my sisters Sarah, Julie and I. Julie just really likes to take pictures!
This is a picture of my sister Jennifer and I. She is also pregnant, so we thought we should take belly pictures! I am excited that my baby will have a cousin close to her age. They will just be about 3 or 4 months apart!
More of the belly! Yay!
This is just a cute picture of my mom and dad in their amazing backyard. I will have to post some pictures of their yard. It is absolutely amazing. Everyone always asks who they had landscape their yard and they are always baffled when we tell them my parents did it all by themselves. My yard is next mom and dad! Brooklee needs grass to play in!!!

So anyway, life is great, what can I say! I am definitely ready to have this baby! Ok, maybe not considering her bedroom isn't finished yet, but we have all of the cute little clothes and things just sitting around waiting for someone to use them! The shop is almost done, so we should be painting and starting things here in the next week or so. Hopefully that will make the time go by faster! Only 5 weeks and 3 days to go! YIPEE!!

Happy Birthday To My Amazing Husband!!!!

I just wanted to say Happy Birthday to the most amazing husband in the world. He is turning the big 28 today and I just wanted him to know how much I love and appreciate him. Being married to him has been the best six years of my life and I couldn't have asked for anyone better. He is the most caring, considerate, and compassionate person I know, and will be the greatest daddy to our little girl. Happy Birthday to the love of my life!!!! I love you Sam!!!!

Craziness!!!

Well, I haven't posted for a while and for a perfectly good reason too! My first day of school was yesterday and before that, I was at the school pretty much every day, all day, for about a week. It has been utterly exhausting! I am just hoping that it starts slowing down and I can finally feel like I am getting in to the swing of things. I am still trying to learn the names of the kids in my homeroom, let alone the kids in the rest of the grade! I actually teach Social Studies to all of the 5th graders. We have what it called a split curriculum, which is really nice because all I have to really prepare for is Social Studies. It also makes it hard because I have to learn the names of 115 kids in 5 different classrooms! AAAGGGHHH! It really is fun and exciting, but I just underestimated how hard it is to get anything done with a huge belly. Anyway, here is a picture of my classroom all set up and ready for the little kiddos! Wish me luck! I'll need it!

Brooklee is healthy!!!

At my last doctors appt. the doctor said I was measuring small (24cm at 27weeks) so she ordered another Ultrasound just to make sure Brooklee was growing okay and I had enough fluid and all that stuff. But I had to wait 2 weeks for the ultrasound! I just hated that I had to wait so long to find out wether or not my baby was healthy! But I had my ultrasound this morning and Brooklee is measuring perfect and amount of fluid and everything is fine as well, so now I can relaxe and just enjoy my pregnancy. It was really fun to see pictures of her again. We have this joke in my family (especially with Brian) that our baby is going to have the fatest cheeks in the world. Anyway, this first picture is a picture of Brooklee's face. The technician even mentioned that she already had chubby cheeks! So congratulations Brian, you were right! It just makes me that much more excited to see her in real life! I love chubby cheeks! Needless to say, we are releived and excited for the new little addition to our family!!!

Annual Chamber of Commerce Dinner

So last weekend we went to the annual Chamber of Commerce fundraiser dinner. Valley Furniture is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, so we go every year, besides that Steve is the President of the Chamber right now so he was kind of in charge of it I guess. Anyway, it was a lot of fun. The "theme" this year was "Big Band" like 50's music and stuff. They had a jazz band playing for entertainment. They usually have really good food too. This year they had Steak and Shrimp, which are two of my favorite foods, so I was happy! Anyway, here are some pictures of our little group that went. Penny (Valley Furniture secretary) and her husband John came. Sarah and Matt are also member of the Chamber with their business. I also got a picture of Steve and Diane dancing...Aaaah Cute! It was a pretty fun evening.

Finally...Our Shop!!!

So we have been wanting to build a shop in our backyard pretty much ever since we moved in 3 years ago. Well, now we are finally doing it! We actually had the foundation poured 2 years ago! So having a baby really motivates you to do the things you always wanted to do. I haven't been able to get the baby room ready because we are using her room as the office right now, and the other room that will be the office is being used for storage. So once the shop is built and we can put our storage in there, we will be able to start moving things around! I can't wait. We have been waiting too long as it is to get the baby room ready. So anyway, here are pictures of the shop being framed. I really, really have to thank my brother Brian for helping us with this. We never would have been able to do it without him! He and Sam got the shop framed in just a few hours! It is looking great!

Beautiful Summer Weather!

Yesterday it sprinkled a little bit just before the sunset. As the sun set a beautiful, full rainbow showed up. Unfortunately I couldn't get the full rainbow from where I was with my camera, so I got it in two pictures. Rainbows are just one of those things that can make anyone smile...so if you are having a bad day, I hope this helps! Although it was way more beautiful in real life!!!

The Baby Belly!

Welp, here it is...the baby belly! Everyone keeps saying its not that big for how far along I am, but it certainly feels gynormous! I definitely can feel it any time I bend down, get up, or move for that matter! It is fun though. It really didn't start poking out really good until a few weeks ago. At least I actually feel pregnant now!

Family Reunion in Texas!!!

So this last weekend we went to a family reunion in Lubbock, Texas. It is Sam's mom's side of the family, called the "Cooksey Family Reunion". There aren't a whole lot of kids in the family so it is a lot of older people who get together once a year to play dominos and cards. It is actually pretty fun and relaxing. I really like Texas too, so it is a good excuse to go there once a year. This year we took Sam's nephews Gage and Dane, as well as Sam's Mom and Dad and his sister Kasi. Since there were quite a few of us and we were going to be driving around 11 hours each way, we decided to rent a 12 passenger van to give us more room. It was a pretty fun vacation.

We stopped and stayed the night in Ruidoso, New Mexico on the way over so it wouldn't be such a long drive for the boys, who are 4 and 5 years old and had already traveled 4 hours the day before from Surprise, Arizona where they live. We got there a little late, but with just enough time for the boys to swim a little before going to bed. The next day we drove into Lubbock and the first thing we did was stop to eat at the BEST teppanyaki restraunt in the world called Shogun. It really is amazing food and entertainment, so if you ever happen to be in Lubbock, Texas, just give me a call and I will give you directions!

After we ate, we went and checked in at our hotel called the Ashmore Inn. All of the out of town relatives stay at this hotel and we rent one of the conference rooms to hold the reunion in. It is pretty nice and convenient to stay at the place where the reunion is held. Anyway, like I mentioned before, everyone pretty much just gets together and plays dominos and cards. This year we also had a 50th wedding anniversary party for Sam's Great Aunt Lawanda and Uncle Bill. So there were actually a lot more people there this year than in the past. But we didn't have time this year to sing gospel songs and play the bells! (Dang it!!!) Actually, I wish we would have because it is actually really funny and I could have got some good pictures! I will have to find some pictures from the last few years of that!

Well, the reunion didn't last very long and we headed back to Arizona on Sunday morning, but not without a little drama! When we were loading the van I realized that the tire was going flat really fast. So we had to wait forever to get a replacement before hitting the road. We have a tradition every year that on the way back we stop in Las Cruces, New Mexico and eat at a Mexican restaraunt called La Posta. That is another one, if you want a good place to eat in Las Cruces, just let me know and I will give you directions! :o) So, all in all the trip was really fun and a nice little break, especially for Sam. I guess I can't really say it was a break for me cause I have had the whole summer off! But it is nice to get out of town every once in a while! Enjoy the pictures, there aren't many, but at least I am trying!
